The Restaurant

   Welcome to The River Merrimac Bar & Grille website! The River Merrimac Bar & Grille is located in the heart of historic Newburyport (birthplace of the United States Coast Guard) within the restored mill building of The Tannery. The restaurant boasts two floors of casual fine-dining, an extensive menu and winelist, daily specials and fireside seating with views of the Merrimac River leading to Plum Island. Our Full dinner menu and new tavern menu is available on both floors with a large bar upstairs that is open every day of the week. Seating is available in the first floor dining room and our large upstairs bar area. Excellent service and exceptional dining is what we have to offer. Come enjoy the experience!

Our professional staff will take care of all the details so that you and your guests can enjoy the celebration! We have menus for all events and occasions or will work with you to design something more personal (customize your own menu). We have the perfect location for your event, dinners, weddings, showers, meetings, luncheons or whatever type of afair you are arranging.
